Terms of use

What these tools are, what they are not, and who is responsible for what.

What this site is

TradeShopKit provides free calculators and document templates for trade businesses. Everything here does money and time arithmetic, or produces a draft document. Nothing here sizes equipment, specifies materials, mixes chemicals, diagnoses a fault, or tells you whether something is safe.

That limit is deliberate and permanent. If a wrong number could injure someone, start a fire or fail an inspection, we do not build the tool.

The results are estimates

Every calculator works from figures you enter. If your inputs are rough, the answer is rough. The numbers are there to inform a decision, not to make it, and they are not a quote, a valuation, or a professional opinion.

Where a tool relies on a general assumption rather than your own figures, it says so on the page.

The documents are drafts

Policies, agreements, quotes and reminders produced here are starting points. They describe what a business chooses to do. They do not state anyone's legal rights, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer.

Consumer protection, contract, employment and licensing rules differ by country and by state, and some of them override whatever a policy says. Have a professional read anything you intend to put in front of a customer or rely on in a dispute. Every generated document carries that warning on its face for the same reason.

Nothing here is professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax or trade advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. The business valuation tool in particular is arithmetic on figures you typed, times a multiple you chose — it is not a valuation.

What you are responsible for

  • Checking that the figures you enter are right
  • Checking that any document you use complies with the rules where you trade
  • Not putting confidential details or real customer data into the AI tools — see the privacy policy for why
  • Not using the tools to break the law or a platform's rules

What we are responsible for

We try to make the arithmetic correct and the guidance honest, and we fix mistakes when we find them. But the site is provided as it is, free of charge, with no warranty that it will be available, accurate or suitable for your situation.

We are not liable for decisions you make using these tools, or for losses arising from them. Where the law does not allow that limit to apply, it does not apply — nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed.

Availability and changes

Tools may change or be withdrawn. These terms may be updated, and the date at the top shows when. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies.

Website services

If you engage us to build a website, that is a separate arrangement with its own terms agreed between us. These terms cover the free tools only.

Have this reviewed. This was written to describe honestly how the site actually works, but it is not legal advice and it has not been checked by a lawyer. Privacy and consumer rules differ by country and by state. Get it read before you rely on it.
