Why a price list wins calls
Most people ringing a plumber are braced to be quoted something arbitrary. A published price for the job they actually have removes that anxiety, and it removes it before they call anyone else.
It also filters. The people who ring after seeing your prices have already accepted them, so the call is about booking rather than negotiating. That alone is worth the afternoon it takes to write.
The conditions are the important half
A fixed price without stated conditions is a trap you have built for yourself. The job where the pipework is wrong, the floor has to come up, or the fitting is seized will arrive, and without conditions you either absorb it or argue.
Be specific about what changes the price. 'Subject to survey' means nothing to a customer. 'If the pipework needs altering, or if access means lifting flooring, we stop and requote before doing anything' is a rule both sides can recognize on site.
