A plan you could actually run, not a forty-page document.
A plan you could run on a Tuesday
Most marketing plans fail because they describe a business with a marketing department. A working plan for a trade fits on a page, names three things, and says who does them and when.
The constraint that matters is your time, not your budget. A plan requiring six hours a week from someone already on the tools is a plan that stops in week three.
Start from where the work already comes from
The highest return is almost always in strengthening the channel that already works. If most jobs come by word of mouth, a referral routine beats starting a new social account from zero.
New channels take months to produce anything. Existing ones can usually be improved this week — asking for reviews, following up old quotes, telling past customers you do something they did not know you did.
Three things, not ten
A plan with ten actions gets none of them done. Three, with dates, gets two or three done — which is infinitely more than zero.
Pick one thing to fix in an existing channel, one to try that is new, and one to stop doing. That last one is the part people skip, and it is usually where the time for the other two comes from.
